Economic Growth /Jobs/Small Business Initiative
1) As State Representative I will focus on concentrating resources to stimulate existing small businesses and creating new small businesses in our district by utilizing the districts apportionment funding. These businesses will create new jobs and opportunities for constituents in the immediate area while also expanding the city, county, and state tax bases, while diverting the current assembly’s emphasis from raising personal income and corporate income taxes. New businesses, New Jobs, New Tax Revenue Streams. I will combat any and all movements to raise State taxes. During these tight economic times, it is important that the State of Illinois not react by raising our taxes.
2) As State Representative I will place a strong emphasis on obtaining state contracts for businesses in our district. By securing contracts more jobs will be created.
3) As State Representative I will lead our district on the technological front by providing technology training for businesses and organizations, thus helping them to grow and sustain in this depressed economy.
Criminal Justice Reform
A state representative will sponsor legislation to create alternatives to incarceration for nonviolent offenders while also providing treatment for addiction; educational classes; life, social, and job training skills. I will also create and sponsor legislation that allows non-violent offenders opportunities that make sense.
Restoring Trust in State Government by Eliminating Waste, Fraud, and Abuse of State Taxpayer Dollars
As state representative I will sponsor legislation that affects State, County and City Procedures and Policies that would directly confront issues normally considered outside the realms of state government, such as the privatization of Parking Meters in the City of Chicago and its effects on our district's residents. While also promoting accountability in all aspects of government officials.
